After being approved in the 1980s, Maya Angelou's book (I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings) faced challenges as the Alabama State Textbook Committee found that incited hatred and bitterness toward white people. Soon the book was banned in all parts of the country, but I think it should not be banned because the topic might be sensitive but is fact-based. All over the country, white people are still giving tough times to African Americans and other minority groups, which is why their real face can be brought to light by uplifting the ban from this book.
