Abelard and Heloise is one of the most discussed romantic stories in the literary world because of the vividness depicted in the stories. Some stories depict romance in unique ways, but the story of Abelard and Heloise is the most astonishing. Some aspects that can certify this exclamation are the quality and quantity of feelings they had for each other and the events that led to their love's de-escalation. The relationship started as a teacher falling in love with his student, and eventually, they bore a child that does not have too much influence in the story. Fulbert, who is Heloise's uncle and guardian, also influences the events of the story and ushers in the second part of their affair. The idea of romanticism is emboldened and subdued in their story because their spark fades and picks over a more friendly tone. Abelard makes Heloise take religious vows to conceal their marriage, leaving for a monastery while Abelard stays at home. Later Fulbert sends thugs to castrate Abelard, and he is forced to become a monk, eventually living the same lifestyle as Heloise. Reasons for this crime are unknown; it may have been out of rage for not knowing about the secret marriage that Fulbert ordered for the castration. Another reason may have been that Fulbert feared that Abelard might have relationships with other women after Heloise had left for the monastery, and hence he was acting out of love and care for the niece.
