Introduction
Military ethics is a tool that aids in addressing some of the challenges that most populations never face. In as much as citizens may hold on to certain values and beliefs, the men and women serving have to put themselves in the frontline on those beliefs. As intense as war may result, there is a necessity of protecting human life (Arnold, & Hall, 2013). It is therefore essential to determine that the members of the military are always granted powers within them, a factor that makes them vulnerable to ethical dilemmas.
With their capacity to use violence in certain scenarios, the members of the military in some time commit felonies that go unpunished. This requires that factors are determined to consider when legal violence is tolerated (Arnold, & Hall, 2013). As determined in the Standards of Conduct, the military employees are provided with regulation on the standards of conduct and ethics. The violation of these punitive provisions by these staffs’ in relation to the standards of conduct and ethics may result in prosecution as determined and defined in the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).
As a result of these violations by the civilian authorities, disciplinary measures have been put in place without any regards on the issues of criminal liability. In line with this, it is therefore critical to emphasize that the violation of these standards even in instances where violations may not constitute to criminal misconduct may subject a military official to administrative actions such as being granted a reprimand (Baumann, 2007). This paper therefore seeks to determine the ethical dilemmas experienced in a situation where civilians are utilized in the military in a combat role within a combat theatre.

It is essential; to establish the fact that the current global; war on terror has presented the American military personnel with adverse challenges. None of these challenges are far much greater than the ethical dilemmas that soldiers face while undertaking measure to combat the element of terrorism (Baumann, 2007). It is upon this background that it is essential to clearly point out that fighting an enemy with no morals or principles may turn out to question our application of our morals.
Having been taxed with the powers to conduct military operations, civilians find challenges and conflicts into how right or wrong an action may be against how good or worse the repercussions of the actions may turn out to be, a factor that put our moral values to test.
