In this paper, factor analysis was used as communication research method to reduce and observe the interrelationship of different variables. In the first research question (RQ1) of the study, they used t-test to observe young audience's perception of credibility of the news source and the credibility and importance of the story based on differences of the source's gender. However, T-test was inappropriate because RQ1 wants to find the effect of gender (male and females) and the effect of credibility and importance of news story (economic story and technology story) on the perception of credibility of young audiences. Because RQ1 compares the effect of two factors on the dependent variable, RQ1 should use ANOVA. The calculated t-value was easily interpreted since the interpretation was directly stated in the results.
