A lot of thoughts happen when watching "Lumumba," such as reasons the United States so frequently back the international disputes reactionary side? Reasons we fight against liberation activities, and in puppet's favour, who make issues comfortable for multinational corporations? The fear of democracy elsewhere despite having a great democracy? The film is the story of how the USA collaborated to bring about the death of Patrice Lumumba, the Congo's leader democratically, and to fund in his position a dictator Joseph Mobutu, murderer and thief who ruled long to enjoy American backing.
A footnote to this bigger story is Patrice Lumumba. Raoul Peck's film starts with his murdered body being excavated by Belgian militaries to be hacked into lesser parts and scorched in oil drums. Lumumba's defaced corpse starts the tale that runs throughout the movie. He remembers his initial times as a beer seller, a trade that assisted him in growing his ability for leadership and speaking. As it occurs, the beer he endorses has a competitor possessed by joseph Kas Vubu, who in the future turns out to be president. In contrast, Lumumba is titled defence minister and prime minister. It is Kasa Vubu who ultimately commands the arrest that leads to Lumumba's killing.
Lumumba turns to be the Congolese National Movement leader in the 1950s. His capabilities are marked by the Belgians, who are afraid of influential Africans. Lumumba is tortured, jailed, and then freed to go to the Brussels meeting allowing Congo its independence. He assumes the office to discover the military still ordered by the colonies who tortured him, and when he attempts to substitute one of the greatest evil, he is singled out by the Belgians, the CIA, and the white resident as a harmful person and Lumumba's fate is closed.
