In her speech, Dr. Faust proceeds to address the state of complacency within society when it comes to remembering the progress made by women and how different things were in the past. From her speech, it is quite clear that women have made significant strides as far as their place in society is concerned. They are now considered equal to men, as capable as men, and in many instances even better than men. However, she is quick to remind the audience that the benefits enjoyed by women today have been hard won. They are the fruits of endlessly dedicated women that continually pursued the realization of equal rights for women over the past six decades.
