Gilgamesh is presented as a character who loves power a lot and does a lot of things that are inhuman. Among such actions is the act of forced labor and raping any woman that he desires. Therefore, he finds such acts sufficient enough to give him pleasure in life hence giving him a reason not to wish for death. Gilgamesh is represented as a selfish king who does not care about the needs of the people that he leads (Haubold, 2014). Given the fact that he is comfortable with forcing people to work for him, then it means that he has no respect for others and only cares about himself.
