A child life specialist is a professional who works with children and their families to help alleviate the impact of traumatic or difficult illness experiences. Child life specialists simply try to ensure that families do not experience the interruptions that come with the overwhelming hospital experiences.
The job outlook for child life specialists looks promising. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that the profession will see an employment growth of 7% between 2016 and 2026. With 2026 just five years away, the field is expected to keep growing.
Early Childhood Intervention
An early childhood interventionist plays the role of assessing the developmental state of children. Early childhood interventionists mainly seek to detect signs of developmental difficulty and look for ways to reduce the impact of the same. Professionals fitting this profile can be found working either in schools, homes of clients, or clinics. After detecting the developmental difficulties, the early childhood interventionists work out ways to intervene and save the children.
The job outlook for early childhood interventionists is great. Individuals who are in training to become early childhood interventionists will find a job market that is ready to slot them in different positions.
Adult Protective Services
Working in adult protective services means working with adults who are disabled. As an adult protective service worker, one will be expected to ensure the safety of the adults they are in charge of. They have to ensure their wellbeing is ensured while also helping them deal with other issues, including tragic events, chronic illnesses, among others. There are instances that may force an adult protective service worker to help adults who are battling drug addiction.

Court Appointed Special Service
Court Appointed Special advocates are appointed mainly by juvenile courts to speak in the interest of children of a particular community. These advocates are appointed for children who are in protective custody under the child welfare system. Their duties include gathering information on a child by engaging those around the child and reviewing information on a child. They are then expected to submit a report to a judge during an interview or hearing.
The job outlook of Court Appointed Special Service appears to be good, with projections at 12%. The advantage of this kind of opportunity is that it is not limited geographically. One can get a job anywhere in the country.
