Introduction: This project has two components. 1) Personal Ethics Statement: We ask you to reflect on what ethics means to you personally. It is critical that you use numerous personal examples from your actual life and NOT someone else's ideas. This project is graded based on your giving an honest assessment of what you think about ethics by reflecting on the questions below. As you write, don't worry about what you think your professor would or would not like. This is your ethics statement. So, give a truthful response to the questions. As long as your text answers the questions from your personal point of view and it is supported with examples from your life it is done well - the content (whether it is positive, negative, whether it is in line with the social norms, etc.) will NOT impact your grade. Note: You are NOT required to do any research for this paper. You need to write, in your own words, what is true for you. 2) Reflection on the CARL test: We'd like you to reflect on your CARL test results. What did you learn? Were the results as expected or were you surprised? Given the test results, what are the areas you would like to improve in? How are you planning to invest in this improvement?
Ethics Project Paper Content Guidelines: Your paper should include the following 6 sections. Begin each section with these BOLD headings and respond in your own words:
Introduction: Short paragraph introducing what this paper is about.
Personal: Define ethics in your own words; explain your personal perspective about ethics, where your ethical views originated from and why ethics is, or is not, important to you (use examples from your personal life to explain your position).
Career: Now that you have considered ethics personally, address in your own words how you see ethics applied in organizations (corporate or other work settings) and discuss why you believe this is important, or not important, to your career. Give examples from your personal experience or knowledge of companies and their ethics protocols (including any work or non-work experiences).
Society: Reflect on is how ethics is applied across society. Describe in your own words the importance of, or the lack of, ethics in the global world. Give examples from your personal

 

experience that would reflect your point of view; if you can relate this to your home country, even better.Conclusion Personal Ethics Statement: Short paragraph tying the three questions together with any conclusions you believe others would find helpful in understanding your perspective on this subject.
Reflection on CARL test: In one paragraph, explain what you learned about yourself from the CARL self-assessment. Were there any surprising results? Given the test results, are there any areas you would like to work on and improve? If yes, how will you do that? If no, please explain why you think improvement is not necessary.

5. Type: 12-point font; Times New Roman or Calibri
6. Include a title
7. Your name at top of page
8. Bold headings for all six sections as noted in these guidelines

10. Grammar, spelling and attention to detail are always important - check your document carefully
11. Make sure your paper is uploaded correctly to Canvas
12. Make sure to submit on time.

Introduction
In a time when the world has become a global village, thanks to the advanced information and communication technology, the importance of knowing what is right or wrong cannot be overstated. Interacting with people at the global level calls for increased sensitivity to the cultural, social, political, and economic aspects of different regions or societies around the world. It has come to my realization that such a fete may seem impossible to acquire due to the wide range of differences across the outlined social parameters. The cultural differences, for instance, among individuals and social groups across the globe pose a significant challenge towards global integration and interaction for equally unique purposes including business transactions between organizations. Overcoming such challenges calls for the adoption of a strategic approach towards enhancing cultural understanding and tolerance between and among individuals or social groups from diverse cultural backgrounds. Embracing the various dimensions of responsible leadership by individuals and organizations alike is instrumental in overcoming the existing social differences. The dimensions of responsible leadership within business organizations include positive stakeholder relations, self-awareness, understanding of systems, change and innovation, as well as ethics and values. Ethics and values form one of the important responsible leadership dimensions as it sets the basic standards of operation at both the individual and organizational levels of interaction or integration for either business or personal reasons. Provided herein is my analysis of the concept of ethics and values as a primary dimension for responsible leadership across the personal, organizational or career, and society levels.
Personal Level
Efforts to develop good relations within the social or organizational setting may fail to register the desired effects if the individuals within the social groups have little or no regard for what is right and wrong. Knowing what is right or wrong sets the standards for interacting with other individuals at both the local and global levels. The concept of knowing what is right or wrong is commonly referred to as ethics and is integral to the sustainable growth and development of business organizations. Ethical behaviors build trust between and among individuals in society as it allows for peaceful coexistence within and outside the social group. In essence, ethics refers to a person’s belief in what is right or rather how things should done in a particular setting or life as a whole. Anything that contradicts what a person believes to be the acceptable way of doing things or how things should be may be considered as unethical. Hence, ethics and values may vary from one person to the other as what one believes to be right may be wrong to other individuals. While, for example, I may see or feel nothing wrong with talking when eating or with my mouth full of food, the same may appear as an unethical behavior to another person or group of people.
