Economic Question: Why would a rapid shift in investment expenditures or government expenditures do more harm than good in the economy?
The reason as to why I am thinking about this question is to ascertain if shifting of private industries or the government expenditure would be harmful. I would also like to know if this change would cause demand-pull inflation or if the output will decrease. Recently there was a blog that was published, and the author asserted that public and private investment does create profits and jobs in firms through expenditure (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, 2017). Additionally, I think that there are times when public investment overpowers private investment by absorbing all the wealth that could be used to invest in other areas.
