Part II: Speech Introduction
I. (Attention-getting statement): Trauma is one of the major causes of death in the U.S., and trauma nurses play an important role in caring for and saving lives. (Nurse Journal, 2020).
II. (Establish credibility): I seek to advance and specialize in my nursing profession and work as either registered nurse trauma or emergency room nurse.
III. (Relevancy statement): There is a shortage of emergency and trauma nurses working in the emergency department, trauma centers ICU units in the U.S.
IV. (Central idea): Specialist education training on emergency/ trauma care and adequate patient evaluation are important to deliver quality care and save lives (Jennings & Mitchell, 2017).

1. The nurses need to have adequate, complete, and specialist training that enables them to allow the correct handle critical situations both in the field pre-hospital and hospital care.
