Goleman et al. (2013) contributed to the commonly debated argument about leadership by highlighting some of the core components that best describe an effective leader. Researchers and scholars in the domain area of management and leadership have unanimously argued that emotional intelligence (EI) contributes immensely to one's overall performance. Goleman et al. (2013) added a new dimension that aside from the different elements of EI that define competency, a leader's mood is a key component in leadership dynamics. Goleman et al.
