Introduction
Vaping with e-cigarettes is a controversial issue that has been extensively debated in the last decade. In the United States, nearly 11 million adults use e-cigarettes while one in five high school students use e-cigarettes to vape nicotine. Since the aerosol vapor used to vape nicotine contains flavors of mango and mint, vaping with e-cigarettes has been considered as the solution to traditional cigarettes. However, just like traditional cigarettes, vaping with e-cigarettes causes serious health risks.
Vaping with e-cigarettes poses a serious risk to the health of both active and passive smokers. This position is supported by a study conducted by Kuntic (2020), which revealed that people who use e-cigarettes are likely to suffer from stroke and heart disease compared to non-users. Despite the harm caused by vaping with e-cigarettes, the following premises support the use of e-cigarettes; a) vaping is a safe way to ingest a tobacco product, b) e-cigarettes reduce health care costs, create jobs, and help the economy, and c) e-cigarettes help adults quit smoking and decrease deaths caused by traditional cigarettes.
