Hypothesis testing can be described as testing the assumptions regarding the population parameter by the analyst. This type of methodology depends on the type of data used and the reason for the analysis. The reason for hypothesis testing is the statistical evidence that favors a particular belief is enough.
There are two different hypothesis testing types; they include the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis (Bulfone et al. 2020). An example of a null hypothesis includes; the number of smokers within the population who would refrain from smoking using a nicotine patch and Placebo patch. While in the alternative hypothesis, it can be; the smokers who will quit smoking within the population using a nicotine patch is higher than those who would quit using a placebo patch.
