include a thesis statement at the end of the introduction that conveys the overall effectiveness of the chosen ad;
include details to establish the visual description and context of the ad;
identify the various ways rhetorical appeals are used;
be typed and submitted as a Microsoft Word document (.docx), with 12-point font
include an APA cover page
be three to four double-spaced pages (750-1000 words), not including the title page; and
be submitted for grading.

Various rhetorical appeals can be observed in the commercial such as its use of a credible voice, powerful statements, and scientific tools to back their claims. All of the modes of persuasion, Ethos, Pathos, and Logos have been presented in a very systematic and strategic way in this commercial.
The ETHOS part of the commercial stems from the company’s powerful and convincing presentation of itself as the number one company in its field of hair restoration and care. Bosley is a company that advertises itself as the best when it comes to hair restoration and hair thinning solutions. Their claim is bold and solid, which gives the commercial a vibe of trustworthiness. Naturally, Bosley is a corporation that wants to earn money and that is why they are dedicated to the quality of their services, enabling them to make their bold claims. However, it can also be noticed that their company included a disclaimer that “Individual Results May Vary.” This removes their liability if ever their treatment fails for some clients. Even the title starts with an introduction of Real Guys having Real problems. The advertising catches the attention of the viewer by giving hope to a common problem. The video establishes trustworthiness by providing testimonials by supposedly real customers and clients.
The commercial presents the mode of PATHOS to get a hold of their target market. The company presents its members as people who understand the pain of their clients and customers due to their expertise and professional experience in their field. The problem that is tackled in the commercial (and the company) is the issue of balding and hair loss. The company’s target market is the men who are having insecurities and uncomfortable experiences regarding hair loss and hair thinning. Hair is considered by society as a tool or accessory to express one’s style. It can be a basis for beauty, which is why people give large amounts of attention when it comes to the status and quality of their hair.
