Assess Employee Candidate Ability To Write Effectively

Essay Instructions:

Purpose: Assess employee candidate ability to write effectively.
Subject: INTELLIGENT MACHINES. Many of the goods and services we depend on daily are now supplied by intelligent, automated machines rather than human beings. Robots build cars and other goods on assembly lines, where once there were human workers. Many of our phone conversations are now conducted not with people but with sophisticated technologies. We can now buy goods at a variety of stores without the help of a human cashier. Automation is generally seen as a sign of progress, but what is lost when we replace humans with machines? Given the accelerating variety and prevalence of intelligent machines, it is worth examining the implications and meaning of their presence in our lives.
Scenario: In a meeting you attended on the use of Intelligent Machines you had an opportunity to listen to (3) three varying perspectives on the matter of Intelligent Machines and the potential implications on future Federal jobs. The thinking on the subject varied quite dramatically amongst the participants. Your Team Lead asked you to write a 1pg. (375 to 500 word) single spaced persuasive/position essay for a lead Senior Executive who was not present at the meeting. The Team Lead also wants you to carefully consider these varied perspectives (below) in your paper. Each perspective suggests a particular way meeting participants are thinking about the increasing presence of intelligent machines.
Task
Write a unified, 375 to 500 word (NTE 1 page) Final Draft point paper about the increasing presence of intelligent machines. In your paper, be sure to: • clearly state a perspective on the issue and analyze the relationship between your perspective and at least one other perspective • develop and support your ideas with reasoning and 2 to 3 examples • organize your ideas clearly and logically • communicate your ideas effectively in standard written English
Perspective One
What we lose with the replacement of people by machines is some part of our own humanity. Even our mundane daily encounters no longer require from us basic courtesy, respect, and tolerance for other people.
Perspective Two
Machines are good at low-skill, repetitive jobs, and at high-speed, extremely precise jobs. In both cases they work better than humans. This efficiency leads to better service and increased cost savings.
Perspective Three
Intelligent machines challenge our long-standing ideas about what our people can do or become. This is good because it pushes both our people and machines toward new, unimagined possibilities.
Machines are good at low-skill, repetitive jobs, and at high-speed, extremely precise jobs. In both cases they work better than humans. This efficiency leads to better service and increased cost savings.
Your perspective may be in full agreement with any of those given above, in partial agreement, or completely different. However, you know the lead Senior Executive you are writing for is enamored with technology, and believes in harnessing the power of technology to achieve efficiencies. The executive is also very direct and to the point in his writing style, he does not hold back when he has an opinion.

Intelligent machines are innovative machine technology that is automated to perform certain tasks and work better than humans. Modeling complex issues using intelligence goes a long way in making machines better at performing the highly precise jobs better than humans and this includes the low-skill ones that are repetitive. Intelligent machines follow preprogrammed instructions that allow them to perform efficiently without reduction in productivity as would be the case with human beings. The efficiency and precision of intelligence machines results in better services and cost savings over time.
Intelligent machines work well when large data sets are used and the machines utilize the preprogrammed instructions as required (Waters, 2017). Intelligent machines can optimize industrial operations and the industrial application of artificial intelligence can improve productivity and efficiency. Using intelligent data analysis, it is possible for the intelligent machines being more accurate than humans. As more research and development is targeted at improving these machines, they will be able to handle different tasks in the future and so fewer people will be required in manufacturing.
Since intelligent machines work depending on how they are programmed, if there is a mistake, this can interrupt the proper working of the machines, especially when the problem is not discovered early on (Waters, 2017). When there is increased adoption of intelligent machines, people are less inclined to interact and this could be detrimental to human relations. One impact of relying on intel...
