In the second week, we Kieu Linh Caroline Valverde and Wei Ming Dariotis' article "The Time to Fight Is Now": Asian American Women, Academia's Socially Engineered "Privileged Oppressed," Go Rogue". I find the work more historical than academic due to the way in which it gives learners information on the oppression that Asian American women scholars faced when undertaking social engineering projects. From this work, I understand that Asian American female scholars faced numerous injustices, until they could no longer take it and thus decided to respond and express their dissatisfaction. In the book, the authors cite Mr. Miyagi of Star Wars, who believes that one cannot remain in fear while facing unequal power and difficulties due to injustices. A
