Famine is caused by a variety of factors such as inflation, population imbalance, war, government policies, and crop failure. Along with health and shelter issues, it is enough to take the lives of millions of people every year. Some countries, especially sub-Saharan Africa, continue to have severe cases of famine. I am lucky to have been born and raised in a country where there is no such problem, but still, there is a significant number of people who work for pennies, are pushed behind the competition, have no shelter, and suffer from a lack of medical facilities.
