After doing so, it is now time to share your knowledge with others. You have been given the task of writing a reflection paper to future students at CSU in which you will share your advice on academic integrity. Your reflection must cover the topics listed below.

Academic Dishonesty and its Repercussions
Academic dishonesty refers to activities that compromise the integrity of a scholarship process by the learners through circumvention of the set procedures. It may include unauthorized use of reference materials during an assessment, collaboration among learners, and unauthorized assistance from the teachers, and copying answers from other learners (Baran & Jonason, 2020). The maintenance of academic integrity is a foundation of five major values in academics that includes honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and responsibility. It is from these values that scholars can develop academic principles that enable them to translate ideas into actions that benefit the community (Baran & Jonason, 2020). The values built during the academic process are also transferred to the workplace and in the community. If a learner dishonestly progresses through the education system, it is likely that he or she will remain dishonest in future engagement and would hesitate to have self-initiation (Baran & Jonason, 2020).
This writer assumed that academic dishonestly only involved assessment and examination-related cheating. In particular, the first impression of academic dishonesty is a learner either copying a fellow learner’s work during an examination or referring to the reading materials without the knowledge of the examiner. Further, this writer thought that it only involved collaboration between the examiner and the learner during the examination. However, there are other unnoticed or assumed behaviors that compromise academic integrity (Baran & Jonason, 2020). They include plagiarism which means that an individual uses an author’s information in an article without adequate acknowledgment. The learner uses the information as if they own it. Other ways include the use of online homework assistance websites to complete the research and assignment or complete the course work on behalf of the learner in exchange for payment.
The advancement of technology has contributed to academic dishonesty with a vast eruption of homework assistance websites. In this case, the learners contract other people who may be learners or teachers to complete their work (DiVall & Schlesselman, 2016).
