According to CITATION Mer186 \l 1033 (Merriam Webster, 2018) online dictionary, a wilderness is a ‘tract or region uncultivated and uninhabited by human beings: an area essentially undisturbed by human activity together with its naturally developed life community.’ Wilderness is very important as any form of life and plant is directly or indirectly related to one or several other life forms. All living things survive in a balanced ecological system. Humanity involvement in any wilderness disrupts this balance and eventually, some species can go extinct. Because of the fragility of any ecosystem, it is best that the wilderness is left to exist in its natural form because human civilization and existence depend on it. Most wildernesses have trees and other plant life which produce the oxygen we breathe. They prevent desertification which helps maintain cool temperature conducive for living and production of food. Simply, wildernesses are used for varied reasons and their relevance and significance in our lives is immeasurable.
