I was fascinated by the reading Witchcraft and Writing by Peter Wogan after realizing that San Gonzalo’s book had both the powers of death and life. Although I am not a believer in witchcraft, I know that some people would do anything to harm others. The question I kept asking myself was: Why do individuals visit sorcerers to make others’ lives miserable? If people want the best for themselves, they would have been going to witches to unlock their potential. That way, they can maximize their earnings or benefits to enable them to live comfortably. In reality, I have never seen or heard a witch-saint. A person cannot serve the devil and God simultaneously. One must choose between the two. I wonder how Gonzalo made a book that determined people’s fate. I think the book was connected to Gonzalo’s dead soul, which is the reason why it continued to work well even after the owner’s death.
I have always wondered where people go when they die. In that light, the author tries to answer my question, although he contradicts himself. Wogan makes me more confused when I think about the world of the dead. He argues that some Salasacas received reports from their relatives and friends who died and came back to life. Wogan continues his description and asserts that during the first stage of death, a wok-like frying pan appeared where human souls started their journey.
