A combination of multiple atoms in a bond forms a covalent molecule. Ammonia, HH3, is an example of a covalent molecule. It consists of hydrogen and nitrogen. The Lewis structure of an ammonia molecule consists of three sigma bonds. These bonds occur between the hydrogen and nitrogen atoms. The nitrogen atom has one pair of electrons, which gives the molecule a bent shape. 
The Ammonia molecule has three hydrogen atoms, each of which shares an electron with the nitrogen atom. As a result, they make three covalent bonds. The hydrogen atom in Ammonia has an electronegativity of 2.2, while the nitrogen atom has 3.04 (Chen et al., 2020). The electronegativity property describes an atom’s tendency to attract electrons.
