Science Museum Report
The known universe is based on astronomical observations. The moon, planet, galaxy, and satellites are shown with the correct location based on modern scientific research. The research astrophysicists maintain and curate the data. The astrophysicists are at the American museum that deals with the world's Natural History. It is commonly referred to as the Digital Universe Atlas. The film begins with showing the Himalayas, Tibet, and then the planet earth. There is a beautiful representation of artificial satellites. Light travels from the earth for 1 second. Then a visual representation of the moon and planet orbit. The solar system and the zodiacal constellations (American Museum of Natural History, 2009). There is a comparison between the sun and other stars; through the visual representation, the sun is brighter than other stars. Humanities first radio signals are shown up to what extent they were. The location of the milky way galaxy is shown, proceeds to show the galaxies that are nearby. And later on to the galaxies that have been mapped so far based on astronomical observations.
There is a visual representation of areas that have not been mapped. They are shown in black colour. The quasars are the farthest objects that the astronauts can see. There is a light that comes from a younger universe. It is said to be the afterglow of the commonly known big bang theory. In space and time, there is the representation of the cosmic horizon. It later proceeds to the visual representation of the earth, which is our home.
In the skylight, the data shown is from the digital universe, which collects data from many organizations globally. This data helps create a 3-D atlas about the universe that is accurate and almost complete. The earth has many seasons. Many variations occur throughout the year. The amount of daylight, sunrise, and sunset vary. There is less light in winter compared to summer that has more light. The orbit of the earth is not a perfect circle. When the earth is far away from the sun, it is said to be Aphelion that happens in4th July. However, when it is closer to the sun, it is the perihelion, mostly on 3rd January. During the northern hemisphere, the earth is far away from the sun. The varying distance of the sun does not have any direct influence on daylight or the seasons.
The sunlight's angle changes based on the earth's tilt...
