Concepts of Threat and Vulnerability Assessment as they relate to Personal and Executive Protection
The first step to getting detailed risk information is conducting a threat assessment. In this case, the threat is a man with a high-profile, outspoken, and controversial white supremacist. Therefore, assessing the threat (the suspect) will assist the security personnel in discovering the primary considerations and the elements that drive them to perform killings. The security personnel in charge of threat and vulnerability assessment should ensure they have a defined evaluation to familiarise themselves with the tactics of the aggressor since they have a history of previous murder crimes and the law enforcers have already received the threats (Landoll, 2021).
Similarly, after the threat identification, the security personnel are supposed to perform a vulnerability assessment. The vulnerability assessments assist in determining the probable effect of loss from homicides by defining the severity of loss and vulnerability. The security personnel involved should identify the killings rate and the possible cause of the assassinations. Similarly, the security personnel should ensure they know the impact of the threat. For instance, homicides are classified under devastating crimes since the lives of the victims cannot be restored. If a family breadwinner is assassinated, the victim's family will collapse financially. Based on the case, homicides are an unacceptable threat; therefore, immediate measures should be implemented to reduce murder cases and mitigate the problem (Landoll, 2021).
After analyzing the threat, the security personnel should identify countermeasure upgrades to lower the risk levels. For instance, based on our case, the client is determined to be a controversial person aspiring to be a politician who is free on bond after being charged with links to homicides. This means that the suspect is wealthy enough to pay his fellow criminals to perform murder on people who are threatening his wellbeing. Similarly, being a political aspirant, the client might have links with the ruling leaders willing to protect him and support his ambitions. Therefore, the security personnel must re-evaluate risks to confirm whether the implemented measures are effective or need improvement. Security personnel should ensure, the security upgrades that they put in place have a constructive outcome on the effect of loss or the vulnerability of the threat in case the client is attacked or attacks individuals on his way to court (Landoll, 2021).
Similarly, the security personnel should develop control in response to a threat. Creating control involves implementing guidelines and procedures and how the identified threat would be tackled. Similarly, the security personnel should also document emergency and response plans to enhance safety and minimize hazards. Concerning the case, the client is an executive who has influential power.
