The crime that is committed by all of the suspects apprehended was shoplifting. The law defines shoplifting as “the willful concealment or taking of items owned by the retail establishment with the intent to deprive the store or other owner of them permanently” (Justia.com, 2018). Accordingly, it must be noted that the crime of shoplifting can be committed by simply concealing the goods even without successfully taking the item outside of the store. Nonetheless, in this case, the three suspects were able to successfully take away the items outside, which is indicative of shoplifting.
Nonetheless, the act, in this case, could be seen as done by amateurs. On the one hand, their lack of vigilance and awareness in looking for possible witnesses was an indication that they are not used to what they were doing. This was ...
