Adherence to ethical values and professionalism determine an individual's character and judgment at the workplace. As a result, professionalism and ethics are critical to policing because they determine the extent to which they exhibit fairness and genuine intention to serve and protect. Failure to consider ethical values and professionalism increases police officers' likelihood of engaging in corruption and criminal activities. Undoubtedly, law enforcers are influential in communities because they have access to dangerous weapons and are highly trained to deal with a wide range of situations.
