This paper focuses on the 1994 ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ (DADT) policy which the Clinton administration passed into a law in 1994 and how it affected the Obama administration. The policy permitted homosexuals and bisexuals to fulfill their sexual desires, but in secret. However, these forms of sexual activities were immoral not only in the society but also in the US army and as a result, 12,000 army members were fired because of their involvement in homosexuality or bisexuality. To prevent the army from being emptied, President Barack Obama made changes to the Clinton policies to permit homosexuals and bisexuals to continue working in the army.
