1. Explain the history of marijuana in the United States with specific focus on when, why, and how marijuana originally became an illegal drug.
2. What is Crack Cocaine and where did it come from? Explain the origins of Crack Cocaine and concentrate on how Cocaine and Crack became known as an "epidemic" during the 1970s and 1980s, in the United States.
3. Explain the evolution of Methamphetamines from a stimulant drug manufactured locally in small batches by users, to a mass produced addictive drug now smuggled into the US. Include in your explanation how crime is related to Methamphetamine use.
4. Persons under the influence of PCP (angel dust) often have violent encounters with citizens and with the police. Provide a short explanation of the euphoric effects of PCP and how it changes a person to become more violent and if this is such a dangerous drug, is there any beneficial health uses or safe ways for recreational use?

The account of cannabis use in the U.S. dates back to the 17th century when the administration pushed for the production of the cannabis plant for the sole purpose of making ropes, sails, and clothing. Its use flourished, and by the 19th century, the plant was a common ingredient in numerous medical products sold in pharmacies.
The process of outlawing the use of marijuana began in 1910 when Mexican immigrants entered the U.S. and brought with them their language, traditions, and customs, such as the use of marijuana for recreational purposes (Pagano). Their high numbers in the country began causing concerns and fears among Americans, activists, politicians, and the media started playing to these fears by fueling false claims and anti-drug campaigns against cannabis.
