Many are times when citizens are faced with events and political decisions which are made without their input, and that causes them disappointment causing them to react. The most convenient way to express their urgent grievances is through political protests. These protests allow citizens to express their preferences, which can affect the congressional behavior of representatives. The majority of the protests consist of minority groups, especially racial and ethnic minorities existing in districts led by congressional representatives. The text seeks to analytically explore whether district-level minority protests inform and influence legislators’ votes and congressional policy.
