ITT-415 As It Security Breaches
1. Introduction
When a person is the target of a social engineering attack, they are being duped into divulging sensitive information. The hacker can access the system by deceiving the criminal into divulging the login credentials, installing harmful software in stealth mode, or providing sensitive financial information.
During the attack on Target, after a careful evaluation, it was assessed What went wrong with the original plan, and the following are the reasons:
* Management at the highest levels is not helping
* Customer service with a focus.
* Caused by a deficiency in both information and tools.
* Lack of time.
2. Social Engineering
The plan did not prevent a social engineering attack on the organization because there
may resistance from within management. They cannot insist on just one human tester for
every technological penetration test. There has been no input from the senior population into the
development of security procedures and guidelines (Jones, 2022). The modern emphasis on customer service might make businesses vulnerable to social engineering attacks, as overeager receptionists provide easy access for such hackers. They serve as a portal to essential data for them. Hackers can gain access to sensitive information, such as answers to security questions used to reset passwords, from the myriad social networking sites people use today. Information can be obtained by hackers in a shorter time with less effort.
Although such attacks can cause significant harm to businesses today, management rarely gives them the attention they deserve. Audit reports may show weaknesses the corporation would rather not acknowledge; the company should be open to this possibility.
