           Understanding the relationship between engineering and ethics is essential for everyone. Similar to any other field, it allows the pursuit of progress and advancement while maintaining the safety and security of those who are supposed to benefit from it. Accordingly, this article will focus on my perspective regarding the problems faced by the Boeing 737 Max redesign, which led to the catastrophic failure of some of their planes. This is based on the various sources showing the plane's problems and its intersection with ethical standards and responsibilities in the engineering field. Although I believe that a significant part of these problems is attributable to human error, I believe that the problem still stems from the disconnect between innovation and communication to proper stakeholders regarding its proper use. 
The Catastrophic Failure of Boeing 737 Max
           As shown in both the article and the film, the failure of the Boeing 737 Max was primarily attributed to a mix of human error and engineering failure. For example, in the crash that happened in the Java Sea in October 2018, it was said that although it was the pilot's fault that led to the plane's fluctuating altitude, the root cause of the incident was the failure of the Boeing to properly notify the pilots about the new MCAS system which was installed as a safety failure. In contrast, the same happened during the other crash in Ethiopia, wherein the disjuncture between the MCAS system and the pilots' knowledge caused the death of 157 people onboard (Campbell, 2019). In both of these instances, what was clear was a disjuncture between innovation and human knowledge know-how, which was primarily caused by a lack of communication.
