The chosen small business is EZ Nutrition consulting. It is a small business that mainly provides nutrition counseling. Prior to the covid 19 pandemic, most of the business operations were conducted in office. However, after the pandemic, the business has encouraged working remotely for most of the employees. The core focus of the business in nutrition coaching and counseling. Most of the counseling sessions can be done online. Those that cannot are referred to the physical offices.
The business should primarily focus its hardware network configuration on physical wiring. Physical wiring provides faster speeds compared to wireless networks. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the network infrastructure is based on physical wiring. Secondly, physical connections are more difficult to tamper with than wireless ones (Ågerfalk et al., 2020). For a stranger to gain access to a wired connection, they must physically access a router, switch, or device that is connected to the business network. In the modern day, cybercrime cases have proliferated significantly. It is, therefore, essential for businesses to protect themselves against attacks. One of the measures is having a physical connection as the primary way to connect to the business network. Since it is not always tenable to have a physical connection at all places, the business should also consider having a wireless connection in some areas. Those connections should be secured using the latest encryption protocols to increase security.
