The war of 1812 had a lot of effects on the foreign policies of the United States. The diplomacy of 1812 had broken down a war that was declared by the United States on Britain. After the war, foreign policies changed. The war began after Britain created some trade controls in America. The American citizens were forced to enlist some of its military members and American sailors into the British Royal Navy. Americans signed a peace treaty with Britain and the Treaty of Ghent was signed and the war ended. Initially, the movements emphasized on renewal of cultures and the rejection of influences from the Europeans. After the war, the economy of the United States was damaged. The foreign policies of restricting communism from spreading to other countries were on effects. The policies caused divisions which resulted to cold war. There was a struggle between the Soviet Union and the United States.
