In ancient times, societies were organized in distinct forms around what really made their lives tick. These could be rivers or any other water body, forests, mines or even islands. Once organized in this manner, these societies would then harness whatever they had in order to advance. Empires began rising owing to different factors and within no time, most of them became powerful and strong jurisdictions. The offshoots of Greece include Macedonia, who were basically a province of Greece initially. Through military technology, famous conquerors such as Alexander the Great came through the ranks, becoming one of the greatest military leaders the world has ever seen.
