Question one
Cultural, religious and legal aspects are useful historical lenses that I will use to understand the relationship between the natives and settlers.
Question two
At first, the settlers considered the natives helpful and friendly as they brought a strong military alliance and increased wealth. However, the natives’ initiatives to transform the colonists to their cultures sparked hostilities between the two communities leading to adverse effects including loss of life and slavery.
Question three
Social, political, and religious are the aspects that I will use to analyze the historical elements in the video. I would focus on the historical significance, historical perception, and causes and consequences of this analysis.
Question four
In 1621, Massasoit chief of the Wampanoag’s and leaders of Plymouth acting on behalf of King James I, agreed to a defensive alliance for the two communities. The treaty set that neither the Wampanoag nor the Pilgrims would engage in any forms of violence but instead would live peacefully (Booss, 2019). Thus said, previous events including internal opposition amidst the English colonizers led Massasoit to seek an alliance with Pilgrims as a strategy to survive the forces of colonization that were disuniting the Wampanoag’s.
