During the colonial era, a lot of changes took place among the colonists. Among such changes is the fact that the British revolted the crown because they thought that the leadership was unfair since their grievances were not being listened to. Therefore, they needed a change in the manner in which things were being run in the nation. In addition, there are specific reasons that led to the revolting of the crown.
The main reason as to why the crown was revolted is the fact that the grievances stated in the declaration of independence were not listened put into considerations. The British government was already taxing people unfairly, and in turn, the people were not happy about the king and the resulting ruling. Therefore, they made it clear in the declaration of independence that all the taxes that the British government imposed on the colonists were unconstitutional as long as they did so without the consent of the colonialists. As they wanted voting rights to be implemented so that the parliament can be in a position to represent the colonialists. Failure to meet these grievances resulted to the revolting of the crown.
In addition, the British government imposed various acts that angered the colonists. Among such acts were the fact that the colonists needed to pay for the British soldiers that were based in America. As well, the colonialists were required to pay taxes on the goods that they imported such as tea.
