However, it must be noted that there is no universal or agreed-upon formula that applies to all kids. The kind of training should be aligned with age and maturity index by considering the child’s age, goals, strengths, skills, dislikes, and motivation. In this case, Billie Jean Graf, who is 13 years old, is young talented tennis hopeful, who aspires to play in elite tennis matches in the future. The children who are talented and optimistic about playing at a professional level require proper fitness training. Zouita et al. (2016) reaffirm the need for an elaborate, comprehensive, and quality training, which not only enhances the skill and power but also prevent injuries.
Tennis, like the majority of sports, requires not only tennis-specific skills but significant physical attributes and qualities, which are centered on speed, agility, flexibility, strength, and power. Speed, agility, and quickness are the most sought after competencies in tennis. Thus, a tennis training program should be tailored in a way that improves the ability to react and redirect the force with agility and desired quickness.
One critical area of training entails the need to improve motor skills. People depict varying levels of proficiency in motor skills, and the ability to learn and execute motor skills is also dynamic among different sportspeople. However, significant learning through training can enhance the overall athletic activity, as evidenced by the ability to execute motor skills. The training is aimed at propping the ability to exert optimal force in the course of high-speed movements. Thus, the critical objectives of the tennis training program should focus on revamping muscle power across multiplanar movements, increasing brain signal efficiency, improving reaction time, enhancing motor skills, and creating better kinesthetic, spatial awareness (Isha et al.,2018).
Bodybuilding is a critical ingredient to success in sports training, including tennis, in this case. The principle behind successful bodybuilding in young people, including girls and boys, is to build muscle tissue and limit fat. More muscle tissues and less fatty mass can be attained through a high number of set and repetitions, i.e., 5-to-10 sets involving 10-15 repetitions.
Endurance physical training is necessary for desired body composition. It is not only effective in promoting health but also ensures the maintenance of healthy levels of fat in the body. Some of the key endurance training includes climbing the stairs, jogging, running on treadmills, and cycling, among others.
