The Institution's mission is leading scientific research aimed at improving minority health and ensuring that health disparities are eliminated (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2015).
(b)Agency/Center vision and direction
The vision of (NIMHD) is to have an American nation that advocates for equal rights to all people in terms of long life that is healthy and productive (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2015). The direction of the Institute is to continue enhancing quality and increasing accessibility of health services.
Response to question2: Objectives or goals for Healthy People 2020 applicable to my agency/center
The objectives for healthy people 2020 relevant to the National Institute of minority health include the following; first is access to health services objective. The institute is keen in ensuring that its members get access to relevant health services for treatment. The second applicable objective is food safety (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2015). The Institute on Minority health is keen in ensuring that those with heath disparities get the right quantity of food that is safe for human consumption.
