Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a psychological intervention that may be used to promote treatment for a wide range of conditions, including anxiety disorders, substance abuse, mental illnesses, and depression, among other diseases. Additionally, CBT helps in facilitating significant improvement in functioning and may also promote the client’s quality of life. Throughout the treatment plan, CBT makes it possible for individuals to develop a positive way of thinking, develop attainable goals, and change their perspectives in different situations. This literature compares cognitive behavioral therapy in families and individual settings.
Ideally, cognitive-behavioral family therapy (CBFT) focuses on examining and supporting family members to engage in activities and engagements that facilitate a friendlier environment. Additionally, the CBFT also helps families to promote their interactive aspects and not the internal processes of individual members. On the other hand, an individual-based CBT facilitates the interaction between the client and a therapist and makes it possible to promote the treatment plan’s success.
