Use of Morphine in Cancer Pain
The prescription of drugs is made for therapeutic purposes, and their prescription is influenced by many factors: age, weight, the severity of the disease, comorbidities, and other drugs taken for other conditions are the main ones (Singh et al., 2020). Other genetic or cultural factors also influence adherence or efficacy of the treatment and must also be taken into account.
The use of morphine in the management of cancer pain will be considered in the analysis. Morphine is an analgesic treatment from the strong opioids class and with a dose-dependent efficacy. Although this remains true, it is currently scientifically proven that individual variability influences its effect, so the expected result is not always achieved (Singh et al., 2020). This is also true as far as its side effects and interactions with other products, including CAMs, are concerned.
