The RN-BSN degree program is designed for Registered Nurses (NR) to advance their educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Linton, Dabney, Knecht, & Koonmen, 2019). The increased need for this transition is enabled by the changing scope of the roles of nurses and the looming nurse shortage in the United States. The online version of the RN-BSN program allows nurses to undergo training virtually while carrying out clinical training at a local health facility.
Syllabus Aims
To prepare current students for the teaching of online RN-BSN students.
The RN-BSN online program accelerates the transition of registered nurses into holders of a BSN (Anbari, 2015).
Specific Objectives
Familiarization with the online environment in relation to personal (student’s) schedule and how to balance personal activities (needs like job hours) and online classes.
Utilization of creativity and critical thinking to address patient and professional care issues.
Application of leadership concepts and strategies of collaboration to the delivery of care.
Understand and utilize safety management and quality improvement principles in the nursing practice.
Identify and comprehend the basic concepts of nursing research
