It is necessary to identify the main problems that an organization faces and solutions sought to improve the outcomes (Aiken et al., 2012). Failure to solve the problem means that the threats become actual weaknesses that affect how the organization operates. There are also unrealized benefits because of the delays occasioned by failure to manage risks and solve problems. Additionally, stakeholders are more likely to be skeptical about the effectiveness of the policies, procedures and standards in place when a problem remains unsolved.   When an organization does not solve a problem there is likelihood of reputation damage since the organization becomes associated with inefficiency and lack of effective processes. Clients, customers and other stakeholders will regard the organization lowly. This is further worsened when many become dissatisfied and this undermines the organization’s reputation and building the name takes time. Because of damage to reputation and low expectations this weakens the organization’s ability to respond to problems when necessary.  Failure to address problems harms growth in an organization as there is low motivation among the employees (Liebler & McConnell, 2016). This wastes performance potential as the staff are less willing to work hard when there is low motivation. When the performance deteriorates there are also fewer incentives to motivate the staff members who face difficulty determining the prioritized objectives. This is especially when the workforce is disengaged that staff members lose focus in the workplace, when they are not sure what is expected of them. Since a failure to solve problems in an organization affects performance, there is no clarity about expectations. This creates a risk that many of the staff members leaving their positions, as there is no future direction. This also makes it more difficult to retain the staff members, who look for other opportunities there are chances of growth and recognition of their efforts.  When the problem persists the staff members will waste a lot of time dealing with the problem while they are likely to be overworked and suffer burnout. The number of staff members who remain depends on their perceptions about future outlook and feedback about performance.
