Antibodies refer to the Y-shaped proteins that protect the body from foreign invaders such as bacteria by sending signals to the immune system. The antibodies are also called immunoglobulins, can be categorized into five forms which include IgM, IgG, IgA, IgD, and IgE. The IgG antibody prevents the fetus in the unexpectant mother against disease infection. Structurally, it is found in the B-cells of white blood cells (Grose, 2020). Further, Grose posited that the IgM antibody structurally is connected to the T-cells of white blood cells and is found mainly in solid organs of the body such as the head and legs (Grose, 2020). It revolves in the bloodstream triggering any foreign invaders in the body.
The IgD activates the cells that are formulated in the body. This antibody has a Y-shaped structure and is found in the B- cells of white blood cells. The IgE antibody identifies and protects allergic reactions in the body. Structurally, it is Y-shaped and is found in the T-cells of the white blood cells.
