Introduction
Today, one of the most serious threats when it comes health and well-being is diabetes. There are about 422 million individuals around the world which have the disease, and about 0.88% of this population dies because of it. Nevertheless, it is said that amongst all diabetes cases worldwide, about 90% are those inflicted with Type II (or what we commonly refer to as Diabetes), than those with Type I. This poses a serious question, since if the majority of the population with diabetes is affected with the “preventable type”, then why are the numbers rising? In some first world countries such as the Austria, United States, France, Netherlands, etc. these issues are given priority in reforms and bills which value the rights of free healthcare for everyone (Medical News Today, 2016). This, aside from the fact that these regions are not that densely populated, makes people in these countries less susceptible to preventable diseases like type II diabetes. However, in poorer regions of the globe where the population is also denser, health care (such as Obamacare) and other rights are years, if not decades, before they become a reality. In order to find a more affordable way of diagnosing diabetes type II for everyone, Nayak, et. al (2015), looked into a much easier and more affordable way of detecting diabetes, without the use of complicated equipment and methodologies. Basically, he and his research team tried to find a correlation between a person’s dermatoglyphic profile (a field of forensics) and the probability for an individual to develop diabetes symptoms.
Importance of the Study
The importance of the researcher’s study is the low-cost, early diagnostic too, which would be available for populations with very high densities, like Maharashtra in India. More By employing 50 patients who are confirmed and diagnosed with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. And, if conclusive evidence could be found that a correlation exist between the patterns in one’s hands and feet with diabetes development, the researchers could provide the general public an early diagnostic tool for almost 90% less cost than what is used today. A sort of an early warning system. In line with the problem posed earlier, where most of the poorer parts of the globe also has the densest population of the planet, this strikes a huge importance especially for the city of Maharashtra since the number of its population is about 123 million people, which one of the densest, ever recorded in the world (worldpopulationreview.com, 2017). By being able to develop an early diag...
