Introduction.
The United States of America has a number of Nursing Associations that emphasize on the betterment of various specialties. The purpose of these associations is to establish a platform where nurses can gain a different perspective from the common realm of professional studies, and provide them with an opportunity to interact, relate and share ideas with fellow caregivers. Nursing organizations provide one with the opportunity to achieve excellence in their own area of specialty by obtaining new and original knowledge, and establishing career amelioration. Professional associations are bodies that allow nurses and other healthcare practitioners start new practices and view one’s career in a more productive point of view. One of the main professional nursing organizations is the Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN), which serves the responsibility of promoting career upgrading in pediatric nursing. This is a branch of nursing that deals with the health of children, alongside offering networking options that guarantee new levels of employment in nursing.
Question 1.
SPN plays vital roles of offering numerous services both online and in person, to allow nurses advance in their responsibilities while curbing certain practices that hinder their success. Through their services of excellence such as offering education, guiding researches and other practices, pediatric nursing has benefited vastly from the organization. Furthermore, the association embraces four core pillars that defines its goal and mission in the industry and these principles are commitment, integrity, leadership and excellence (Straka, 2018). The notion of commitment deals with the hard work, the love for jobs, the dedication and the responsibility that nurses constitute to their tasks. Integrity covers the importance of cooperation and networking in the firm whereas leadership addresses the issue of the plausible leadership qualities that the nurses’ exhibit in the process while excellence is the method derived from good leadership qualities to achieve the best from the practice.
Question 2.
People usually perceive networking as something important only in the business world, to create new ideas and improve productivity. However, the thought of networking is even more crucial to pediatric nurses. With SPN providing networking to the nurses, the latter could obtain new information and knowledge about taking care of children something that they would not have achieved if there were no associations (Matthews, 2016). The members of SPN are provided with a platform where they can collaborate in their practices, share their knowled...
