Role of Executive Leadership
The resources required to support operations in a health organization and implement strategic initiatives are limited. As such, the board of directors or executive leadership must carefully select the things to accomplish first. Priorities should always be given to organizational objectives or departments that require resources urgently to avoid the interruption of the daily operations of a health institution.
The primary objectives of the board of directors or executive leadership are to establish objectives and goals, identify priorities, find resources, and allocate money to support strategic decisions of an organization. When it comes to determining the priorities of a health institution, the board of directors conducts a strengths, opportunities, weaknesses, and threats analysis to identify the department that resources urgently (Figueroa, Harrison, Chauhan, & Meyer, 2019). Moreover, executive leadership identifies the current trends and funds departments that have a shortage of resources and those that might generate revenues for a firm within a short period.
The board of directors develops leadership structures that identify the needs and wants of all departments in a health institution.
