The purpose of his article is to provide all Advanced Practice Registered Nurse ( APRN) with the necessary information that they require in order to understand the various opportunities and the challenges that exist when it comes to the process of acquiring reimbursements for their professional services. According to the article, there is a great need to ensure that a revenue stream is established to monitor the issues associated with the reimbursement. It is also important for the practitioners to ensure that they participate in the activities that involve third party reimbursements (WOCN Society National Public Policy Committee, 2012).
The key reimbursement issue discussed in article is that APRNs should understand all the regulations involved in the process of reimbursement to ensure that they don’t carry out fraudulent billing. A good example is the fact insurers are entitled to change the reimbursement guidelines to suit their Medicare rules to ensure that they benefit from the premiums paid by the insured individuals.
