The biggest challenge I encountered while completing this signature assignment was uploading assignments into my electronic portfolio. While the online file management system is not that complicated, it requires some getting used to: numerous sections must be integrated. I regularly found myself uploading the wrong files or to the wrong destination. As a beginner and have no experience with using an e-Portfolio, the experience was a bit overwhelming. Even with some knowledge of IT, I found myself at the beginning unable to consistently and correctly use the portfolio.
I managed to address this problem by familiarizing myself with the file management tool and patiently going through it, checking that all my assignments were correctly uploaded. The success in completing this assignment was that I reflected on my work and assessed the progress in my learning. Besides, the assignment provided a useful opportunity to build a personal and academic identity as I move into my senior year, particularly what I know and what I can do, as well as the capacity to link various learning projects across courses and time.
My learning process throughout this course was based on national board learning, where I was tested every week on a specific topic that I had learned in preceding terms. The multiple testing schedule helped to increase the remembrance and clarity of subjects that I had previously taken. As I prepared for this signature assignment, my strong topics included dental anatomy, oral pathology, and internal medicine, while my weak topics were those relating to occlusion, anatomy, and physiology.
