Behavioral disorder is experienced by children who display a prolonged, risky, and pervasive behavior. The behavior experienced in affected children may last for at least six months. The kids need constant adult supervision, as well as intensive support in the school and social environments. Additionally, the effects of the condition influence the learning and safety of a student and their colleagues. Every child is unique, and the condition affects each child in a different way. The warning signs of this disorder include the following (Behaviordisorder, 2008):
Personal harm or harm to other people
Destructive behavior
Decisive and stealing habits
Poor grades and hatred towards school
Engaging in drug abuse activities such as drinking, and smoking
Participating in underage sexual activities
Turns conversations into arguments and frequent tantrums
Hostility towards people in authority
Children who experience behavior disorders are at risk of poor social interactions, poor academic performance, suicide, and mental health challenges. People close to the child should seek professional help at any point when they identify the symptoms of the disorder. Early interventions are essential to employ prevention measures that can limit the occurrence of the condition. Treatment options include various kinds of therapy and counseling services (Behaviordisorder, 2008).
Mental health counseling. It is offered by licensed health workers who are scrutinized by the state. The treatment procedures are determined by the age of the patient, coexisting disorders, and family aspects that may advocate for their counseling sessions because they contribute to the problem.
