 Introduction             Patient hourly rounding, which focuses on checking patients at regular intervals is one of the ways to address patient needs while enhancing patient safety and satisfaction (Mitchllel et al., 2014). Purposeful rounding is associated with improving nursing responsiveness to patient needs, which is in turn linked to patient satisfaction. While practices, promoting checks have been widely adopted over the past four decades, purposeful rounding is a recent phenomenon (Mitchell et al., 2014).  The proposed project is purposeful hourly rounding targeting nesting staff and the executive committee and seeks to improve patient safety, quality of the car, patient satisfaction and nurse satisfaction. The purpose of the program or project The purposeful hourly rounds are necessary to anticipate patient needs, and there is likely to be higher nursing staff satisfaction when there are fewer call light interruptions and adverse events. The aim of the purposeful hourly rounding is improving patient outcomes in health care settings. The 5 Ps, Problem, Pain, Potty (personal hygiene), Position, Possessions (personal needs) and Plan of care will be prioritized in the intervention with complete documentation of patient visits maintained (Hicks, 2015). When focusing on pain, the level of pain is assessed and interventions seek to reduce pain. Potty needs are met , while possessions are within reach, including the call lights , access to personal items, and adaptive devices  like eyeglasses In the case of position, the aim is changing the patient’s position and emphasis on improving comfort  when there is a need for positioning. The target population or audience.
            The quality improvement project targets the executive committee and nursing staff where purposeful rounding is expected to result in better patient outcomes and patient safety. The executives play an important role when implementing changes and strong leadership demonstrates willingness to improve patient and staff satisfaction as well as commitment to patient needs. To achieve the desired results the executive committee is involved in reviewing the rounding practices and identifying gaps. The nursing staff is involved in implementing the purposeful rounding practices, and when there are positive health outcomes this will influence the health quality outcomes.
